The Design Process
First, a complimentary meeting to assess your garden, to discuss ideas, and to get a square footage of the project in question.
Via email I'll send you a Landscape Design Agreement detailing estimated services and fee. Once this is signed and an earnest fee (25% of design fee) is paid, I can begin work by making complete measurements of your site. If you have a boundary or site map and house plans please provide them. These can aid in accuracy and speed in establishing the base map.
Via email a preliminary hardscape and planting designs will be sent. Discussions of desired changes are usually communicated through email, phone, or sometimes at the site. With the preliminary design before you, a dialog of design revisions and/or design details will flow easily. Your input is needed and sought after. Revisions can be made until the plan meets your approval.
A final hardscape and planting design will be presented to you. You will receive 2 copies of each in usually 36" x 24" size and to scale drawing at 1/8" = 1'0". Upon receiving the printed designs, the final 75% of design fee will be collected. The design fee includes: consultation, drafting, final plans, plant list, and plant data sheets.
With final plan in hand you are free to take it to various landscape contractors for bid or you can install it yourself. Upon request, I can provide you with some names of reputable landscape contractors.
